You sign in to Reciprocal Reviews with your ORCID iD, not an email address. ORCID does not give us an email, so if you want notifications you have to tell us where to send them.

Verifying it

Add your address on your profile. We send a verification link to it, and the address is only stored once you follow that link. Until then we send you nothing except that one verification email, and a banner reminds you that notifications are off.

The link is valid for 15 minutes and is only ever sent by email. We never show it on screen, because a link you could read on screen would prove nothing about who controls the address. Clicking it more than once within the window is harmless, so a mail scanner or link preview cannot use it up before you do.

Why you might not be getting email

  • The address was never verified. Check your profile for the warning banner.
  • The verification link expired. Request a new one; there is no limit.
  • It went to spam. Our mail comes from notifications@reciprocal.reviews. Marking it as not-spam helps.
  • You changed your address but never confirmed the new one. Changing it uses the same verification flow, and until you complete it, the old address stays in place.

Changing or removing it

Change it on your profile at any time, using the same verification flow. Your email is only ever a contact address, never your identity here, so changing it cannot collide with anyone else's account.
